Residents Evacuated After Gas Line Struck: Evesham PD A struck gas line forced the evacuation of nearby residents in a neighborhood in Evesham Monday, Aug. 4, authorities said. At 9:30 a.m., officers responded to Irongate Road and Nottingham Road after a construction crew operating in the area struck a gas line, Evesham Township police said. 13 Injured After PATH Train Catches Fire At Newport Station: Papd Nine people had to be hospitalized after a PATH train caught fire on Monday morning, Aug. 4, authorities said. At 6:19 a.m., a fire began under an eastbound train in the Newport PATH station, Port Authority police said. The train filled with smoke and passengers were evacuated at the scene, police said. Shooting Victim Won’t Identify Suspects: West Orange Police A person was shot in West Orange early Sunday morning, Aug. 3., authorities said. At 2:37 a.m., officers received a call from a resident who said they sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, West Orange police said. The caller requested medical assistance but refused to provide any information regarding how the injury occurred or who was responsible, police said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment due to significant blood loss, police said. No suspect information was available, police said. 17-Year-Old Shot in Newark: Police A 17-year-old boy was shot in Newark on Saturday, Aug. 2, authorities said. At 8:28 p.m., officers responded to Camp Street near Orchard Street and found the 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
