A woman was arrested during a raid at a Smithtown massage parlor, marking the second time police have busted a spa operating at the same Terry Road location.
Suffolk County Police announced on Friday, Oct. 17, that Guiyu Gong, 50, of Flushing, was taken into custody after an investigation at Pear Blossom Spa, 205 Terry Road in Smithtown.
Gong was charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a Class E felony, following complaints from the community, police said. The Town of Smithtown Fire Marshal also issued several electrical code violations. Gong was released with a Desk Appearance …

Two Mexican citizens smuggled several people to Connecticut for tens of thousands of dollars, and once they reached the state, the victims were extorted and forced to work off an impossible debt, federal authorities said.
Maria Del Carmen Sanchez, age 69, and Apolinar Francisco Paredes Espinoza (aka "Pancho"), age 56, helped illegally bring 10 people from Mexico to Hartford beginning in September, the US Attorney for Connecticut said. Federal investigators arrested them on Wednesday, March 1.
